Heartland captain and defensive midfielder Julius Ubido has said his side will not underrate oriental neighbours Abia Comets.

The Naze Millionaires are hosts of the Umuahia side in Sunday’s Bet9ja Nigeria National League (NNL) matchday 23 oriental derby at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri.

The Owerri side edged the Umuahia outfit 3-1 in the first fixture clash at their backyard in Umuahia.

Ubido said his side will take the game to their opponents right from the blast of the whistle aimed at grabbing the whole three points at stake in the clash.

“Every hand is on deck to ensure we return to the top-flight at the end of the on-going second tier league.

“Besides, we are working round the clock to maintain our prime position at the summit of the group.

“We are not expecting an easy clash against Abia Comets even though we beat the side 3-1 right there at their backyard.

“Abia Comets are never pushovers, they are good side and we will not risk underrating the side in Sunday’s clash.

“We are in perfect shape to fight the side hands down aimed at grabbing the whole three points at stake.

“We will take the game to them to prove that we need the points more to keep at the top as well as further our dream to return to the top-flight at the end of the season.

“We know the importance of the points to our ambition to win promotion and we are ready to do the needful to see it becomes a reality,” said the former Lobi Stars utility player to supersport.com.

The Owerri outfit are at the summit of the 18-team NNL southern conference log on 45 points, six above closest challengers Go Round FC.
