Lobi Stars captain and central defender Anthony Agbaji has urged fans to remain patient after his side was held to a goalless draw by Nasarawa United.

The Pride of Benue were held by the Solid Miners in Sunday’s top-flight matchday 14 clash at the Aper Aku Stadium in Makurdi.

Agbaji said the barren draw was disappointing and shocking as he appealed to distraught supporters to be patient with the Makurdi outfit.

“Nobody is happy with the home draw against Nasarawa United especially after we vowed not to drop points on home soil, but in football these things happen.

“We are sad and we know our supporters are disappointed too.

“I want to appeal to the fans not to give up on us as we are determined to make amends and take our rightful position on the log.

“The league is a marathon and we will certainly overcome the difficulties we are facing at the moment.

“Our word to the fans is that we will clinch one of the tickets available in the top-flight.

The barren draw against the Lafia outfit takes Lobi Stars’ points to 20 from possible 42 in the 14-week-old Nigerian top-flight.
